I ran into a bit of an issue using the Slate VMS where basically, my preamps apparently aren't so great.
I am going to pull the trigger at least to test a new interface.
He suggested this one:

something with good conversion, and at least 8 preamps. It has ADAT which is nice, too, for expansion if needed.
What do you think?
What type of thunderbolt card do I need?
What I'm thinking is perhaps my 12 year old interface simply isn't up to task anymore as far as preamp quality and conversion.
