Solo / Mute tracks via midi note on/off?

Hi, is it possible in Reaper to assign midi note on/off to control the solo button on one or more tracks? What I want to do is play a project with a number of tracks, all muted, and have each track's solo button assigned to a specific note on a midi keyboard, such that when I press a key, the corresponding track will be solo'd, and when I release the key, it will revert to mute.

In effect, I want to turn Reaper into a kind of sampler, except I want all the sounds to be constantly running, with the keyboard gating them on and off instead of the typical sampler arrangement of just triggering sounds whenever you press a key.
